Financial literacy gives consumers the necessary knowledge and skills required to assess the suitability of various financial products and investments available in the financial market.
In line with Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development - International Network on Financial Education (OECD-INFE) framework for measuring financial literacy, we believe that there are three significant areas - financial knowledge, financial behaviour and financial attitude, that determine whether a person is financially literate or not. Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has taken necessary steps in order to launch Nationwide Financial Literacy Program. The time frame of the program has been divided into 3 stages, i.e. short term, midterm and long term. Programs for different target groups has also been included in different time frames.
